Our
first Diner's Club of 2010 will be on Sunday, March 21st, at 5:30 p.m. at
Carleton Grange Pub, which is located at 3807 S. Packard Avenue in St.
Francis. The Carleton Grange Pub and Restaurant takes its name from an
international student hostel located in Islington, England, a northern
borough of London. In the spirit of a traditional English Pub, Carleton
Grange offers quality imported and domestic beverages, as well as a full
menu of European influenced food. Join us at this interesting pub! Please
sign up on the sheet in back of church.
Fair Trade
Sale
This year's first fair trade sale is underway, with orders due March 28.
There is an order form in this copy of the Tidings as well more forms in
back of church. Remember that we participate in fair trade sales because it
helps farmers and artisans use their skills and expertise to break out of
the cycle of poverty. Turning a simple exchange of goods into a human
connection that benefits all participants, Fair Trade values the livelihoods
of artisans and small-scale farmers. In particular, Fair Trade increases
children's access to education. We hope you enjoy the fair trade coffees &
teas we offer through Lutheran World Relief.
Lunch & Bus
Trip to Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit
We
are offering a trip to the Milwaukee Public Museum to see the new Dead Sea
Scrolls exhibit, on Wednesday, April 28. Dead Sea Scrolls and the Bible:
Ancient Artifacts, Timeless Treasures brings together archaeological objects
and manuscripts to tell a story 2,000 years in the making. View actual Dead
Sea Scrolls and other early biblical artifacts to learn how transmission of
these early writings has shaped the beliefs of Judaism and Christianity and
influenced aspects of Islam. The largest temporary exhibit ever produced by
the Milwaukee Public Museum, Dead Sea Scrolls and the Bible explores the
archaeological history of the Holy Land during the period the scrolls were
written, from the third century B.C. through the first century A.D. The
exhibit also tracks the discovery of the first scrolls and subsequent
realization of their extraordinary significance.
We will meet
at church at 12:00 p.m., eat lunch, then go to the museum by bus and return
around 5:30 p.m. Total cost including lunch, bus ride & museum entrance fees
will be $23 for adults, and $21 for seniors age 60 and better. Envelopes are
available in back of church for reservations and payment, which are due
Easter Sunday, April 4th. Please join us for this opportunity to see these
wonderful ancient artifacts and timeless treasures.

SIMPLY GIVING
Just a
reminder for those of you who want to use Simply Giving as a direct charge
from your account in 2010, or need to change your amount for 2010,
there are forms in the Narthex on tables and on the counter outside the
church office. Please complete and return to church office.
Starting in
2010, the church will be charged a fee for each Simply Giving transaction.
If you currently have a weekly deduction for Simply Giving, or are thinking
of doing a weekly amount, we ask that you consider doing a deduction less
often; monthly or twice a month. This will help keep our expenses down.
Thank you.

E-PRAYER
CHAIN
Are
you part of TLC’s “E-Prayer Chain?” We have about 40 members of the
congregation who have made a commitment to pray for the needs of
others. Once or twice a week, a list of prayer concerns and prayer
requests are sent out to those on the “E-Prayer Chain.”
If you
have a prayer concern for yourself or someone you know, please let
the office know, either by phone (762-6626) or email
(pastortlcsm@sbcglobal.net),
and
we’ll try to get your concerns out to our prayer volunteers as soon
as possible.

"TLC" Bears
We are
happy to see the popularity of our TLC bears; that they are bringing
comfort to those who receive them. Once again, we are asking for you
help as we are in need of additions to our collection. Please
remember our TLC bears when you are shopping. Donations can be
placed in the bin in the back of the church for tagging.

communities in general but would like to narrow their focus. Please help the
Outreach Team by sending the names and addresses of someone you'd like to
invite to Trinity to Steve Mueller at
smueller1994@wi.rr.com
or put those in the Outreach mailbox in
the office.
